⛺Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp and Box Hill Institute have collaborated to offer a unique opportunity for students enrolled in the outdoor leadership course in 2024. This partnership aims to immerse students in practical learning experiences by involving them directly in the facilitation of programs for Year 8 students.
🥾Participants in the BHI outdoor leadership course will play an integral role in the execution of the program, drawing on their skills and competencies to contribute meaningfully to its delivery. This hands-on approach not only enhances their understanding of program management but also allows them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-work setting.
🍃Under the guidance of experienced facilitators from Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp, BHI students will gain invaluable insights into experiential education methodologies and leadership techniques. They will be responsible for various aspects of the program, from briefing & recce, logistics & setup to delivering briefings and ensuring the safety and well-being of the Year 8 participants.
🤠This initiative not only fosters collaboration between the experiential education sector but also cultivates leadership qualities and practical skills among future experiential educators. It provides a platform for BHI students to refine their interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a dynamic environment.
🌦️By actively participating in the program, students will contribute to the overall success of the initiative while gaining firsthand experience that prepares them for future careers in outdoor leadership and education.
👨👩👧👦By joining this collaboration, students can fast-track their way through the KFAC onboarding process and, if suitable, will have the chance to work with our team in the future!
